Con una semplice applicazione per smart phone si può scannerizzare questa immagine ed il risultato sarà sorprendente. Un Codice QR (in inglese, QR Code) è un codice a matrice (o codice a barre bidimensionale) creato dalla corporation giapponese Denso-Wave nel 1994. Il “QR” deriva da “Quick Response” (Risposta Rapida), poiché il creatore pensava ad un codice che consentisse una rapida decodifica del suo contenuto. I codici QR sono maggiormente comuni in Giappone e sono attualmente il più popolare tipo di codice bidimensionale in quel paese.

ASCAP Bill Of Rights 17 12 2009

Just as citizens of a nation must be educated about their rights to ensure that they are protected and upheld, so too must those who compose words and music know the rights that support their own acts of creation. Without these rights, which directly emanate from the U.S. Constitution, many who dream of focusing their talents and energies on music creation would be economically unable to do so – an outcome that would diminish artistic expression today and for future generations.

Barga Jazz 2009 Tom Harrell 10 09 2009

Si è conclusa l’edizione 2009 del concorso Barga jazz, che ha visto come protagonista principale Tom Harrell un trombetista straordinario che ha fatto emozionare tutti, pubblico e noi che ci suonavamo assieme. Un edizione particolarmente ben riuscita per affluenza di pubblico e livello artistico. Di seguito alcune immagini scattate da Angela Harrell.

Concerto Matteo Becucci & Mr. Pitiful Soul Band 19 07 2009

Il nostro Matteo Becucci finalmente di nuovo con i Mr. Pitiful , la soul band lucchese della quale ha fatto parte per 13 anni. Si è appena consumato l’evento di punta del Festival 2009 di Borgo a Mozzano, con grande affluenza di pubblico già dal pomeriggio durante il Sound Check. C’è stata l’occasione di ascoltare oltre ai brani del’EP di Matteo i cavalli di battaglia dei Mr. Pitiful, che per l’occasione erano al gran completo. La band conta infatti undici elementi: oltre a Matteo e alla seconda voce Cristina Salotti, Fabio Pierotti alla chitarra, Fabrizio ‘Leo’ Leone al basso, Andrea Giannelli alla batteria, e ancora Simone Venturi alle tastiere, Piero Fontana alle percussioni, Andrea Guzzoletti alla tromba e flicorno, Alessandro Rizzardi al sax tenore e sax soprano, Silvio Bernardi al trombone e, infine, Emilio Cervelli al sax baritono. Grazie di cuore a tutti coloro che sono intervenuti e ci hanno sempre sostenuto. Di seguito alcune immagini del concerto.

Miami! Oh its all so confusing, “Who’s on When?” and “Where?”, and “What are we missing now?!” sometimes it’s all just a little bit too much like work, this full time partying lark. Well, never fear!, the clever bods at DJ Mag and the Shelborne have a solution “Lets pick a spot (The Shelborne) and just stay there all week, whilst they bring the party to us”.

Now it might sound a little bit familiar, to those of us old enough to remember, way back in the day, when the Music Conference started, it was actually held in a hotel just down the block, and only in recent years migrated to an actual conference centre, driving most of the cooler parties Downtown, and leaving some hotels with mediocre events and Spring Breakers booze cruises.

Some might wonder why, as the hotel format seems so much more sociable, but times they do change, and then, apparently, just as easily change back again.

This March, from Tuesday 24th right through to the early hours of Monday 30th, the Shelborne Hotel and Resort will be host to DJ Mag’s very own week long residency, featuring the sort of line up that’d make the Ultra Fest weep with envy, and the cab drivers spew with the thought of all the lost revenue from their extortionate Downtown-to-SoBe fares. This spring, it all comes back to South Beach.
